Contractor Stole Classified Intel for WaPo's Hannah Natanson

Will Hannah Natanson be indicted also? I think so, yes. Department of War contractor Aurelio Luis Perez-Lagones has been indicted on five counts of transmission of national defense information and one count of retention of national defense information, all in violation of 18 USC 793. The classified intelligence that he made printed copies of, took notes on, and communicated to Washington Post journalist Hannah Natanson concerned Venezuela. Investigators have been able to examine the exact intelligence Perez-Lugones removed and match it to information that Natanson inserted in articles published by WaPo. Days after Perez-Lugones was arrested, interviewed, and his residence searched, investigators obtained a search warrant for Natanson's home, vehicle, and person. In the course of that search, they seized several devices from Natanson and were immediately able to find some of the classified information on them. However, Natanson and WaPo quickly went to court seeking to block DOJ from reviewing the devices and for their return. In the course of that litigation, DOJ filings, including a memo, an FBI declaration, and the search warrant affidavit, have revealed much more about their investigation into Perez-Lugones and Natanson. According to those court filings, it appears that Natanson lied to FBI agents about her devices, was soliciting and/or directing Perez-Lugones as to what intelligence he should acquire for her reporting, and, pursuant to court order, "the FBI assisted Natanson with applying her right index finger to the fingerprint reader" of one of her laptops so that it could be opened. Based on these filings, I think Natanson will be charged in the near future. Those filings are the subject of this video. A federal judge has restricted DOJ from accessing and reviewing the devices seized from Washington Post journalist Hannah Natanson. The devices were taken as part of a search warrant and investigation that is related to the search warrant and arrest of a defense contractor whom Natanson was in communication with and who has taken classified information from a SCIF at his employer's office in the D.C. area. That man is Aurelio Luis Perez-Lugones, and he is currently detained, facing initial charges of retention of national defense information, with more charges expected to be filed. It is understood that at least some of the classified information he was taking and leaking to Natanson had to do with intelligence reports concerning Venezuela.
