Blackened Sapphire | Chapter 2: Mother & Daughter
David EdynSCRIPT: The date, is Sunday. I awoke in my bedroom, to the sound of someone knocking. Suddenly, my door opened up. My mother entered inside. "Get up Blu. I don't care if you don't have school today. I want you up regardless", my mother demanded in her usual stern tone. "Okay mom", I said compliantly. My mom nodded, before exiting my room, and closing the door behind herself. I got dressed, before also exiting my bedroom. I then enterer into the kitchen, where I saw my mom yelling at my sister. "Ashley, I want you to go job hunting today", my mother demanded from my sister. "Why?! I already told you I don't want to get a job!", my sister shouted back. "Ashley, you need to stop being lazy! You're already failing in school, and you've never had a job! It's time you learn responsibility!", my mother yelled. "I am responsible!", Ashley screamed back, irritated at our mom. "No you're not! So from now on, I want $100 a week for rent! If you can't get $100 by next week, then I'm kicking you out!", my mother shouted, giving my sister an ultimatum. "What?!", my sister yelled in shock. "$100!", my mother repeated. "By the end of the week!", my mom made clear. "Why?! You're a CEO! You don't need $100 from me!", my sister responded. "You're right, I don't! But it will teach you responsibility. So once again, $100 by next Sunday!", my mother shouted. My sister stared at my mother with angered annoyance, before pouting and releasing a strange sound, like a child throwing a tantrum. My mother then checked her phone. "I have to go", my mother said, before heading for the door. "Find a job Ashley. I'm serious", my mom said, before exiting out the front door, and slamming it shut. "Fuck you bitch", Ashley said, bold now that our mother was gone. Ashley then stormed out the kitchen, and headed to her bedroom. "I ain't getting no damn job, the fuck I look like", she said angrily, before slamming her bedroom door shut. I was now alone in the kitchen. "Damn", I said. I then walked over to the pantry and pulled out a box of my favorite cereal, which is called Snow Flakes. I got a bowl, and tilted the box over, but no cereal came out. "What the?", I said to myself, before looking the cereal box, and seeing that it was empty. I immediately knew it was Ashley who ate my cereal, and left the box inside the pantry, inconsiderately. A sigh escaped my lips. "Time to go to the store", I said to myself, before walking to the front door. I then exited, ready to head to the nearby convenient store.28 views
