Linda Ronstadt ) Hasten Down the Wind ) 1976 (Asylum US)
THE FABULOUS VINYL LIFEYou are listening to the genuine Hi-Fi stereo sound transferred from the actual vinyl record in the best possible quality. Hasten Down the Wind is the 7th studio album by Linda Ronstadt. Released in 1976, it became her 3rd straight million-selling album. Ronstadt was the 1st female artist to accomplish this feat. The album earned her a Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Performance, Female in 1977, her second of 13 Grammys. It represented a slight departure from 1974's Heart Like a Wheel and 1975's Prisoner in Disguise in that she chose to showcase new songwriters over the traditional country rock sound she had been producing up to that point. Hasten Down the Wind contained two major hit singles: Ronstadt's covers of Buddy Holly's "That'll Be the Day" (US Pop #11, Country #27) and her reworking of the late Patsy Cline's 1961 hit, "Crazy", reaching #6 on the US Country chart in early 1977. 🔘 Side 1: Lose Again The Tattler If He's Ever Near That'll Be the Day Lo Siento Mi Vida Hasten Down the Wind 🔘 Side 2: Rivers of Babylon Give One Heart Try Me Again Crazy Down So Low Someone to Lay Down Beside Me75 views 1 comment -

Linda Ronstadt ) What's New ) 1983 (Asylum US)
THE FABULOUS VINYL LIFEYou are listening to the genuine Hi-Fi stereo sound transferred from the actual vinyl record in the best possible quality. What's New is an album of traditional pop standards released by American singer Linda Ronstadt in 1983. It represents the 1st in a trilogy of 1980s albums Ronstadt recorded with arranger Nelson Riddle. The album was a major change in direction because Ronstadt was then considered the leading female vocalist in rock. Both her record company and manager, Peter Asher, were very reluctant to produce this album with Ronstadt, but eventually her determination won them over and the albums exposed a whole new generation to the sounds of the pre-swing and swing eras. What's New was released in September 1983 and spent 81 weeks on the main Billboard album chart. The album also reached number 2 on the jazz albums chart. It was RIAA certified Triple Platinum for sales of over 3 million copies in the US alone. Global sales surpassed 5 million. 🔘 Side 1: What's New?
