Liberals Vote Against Tougher Bail Laws — Michelle Ferreri Breaks It Down 🇨🇦 You’re going to see breaking news that the Liberals voted against a Conservative opposition motion to ensure that violent repeat offenders aren’t granted bail under the current Liberal legislation — Bill C-75. Let’s break down what happened and what you need to understand. Opposition Day motions are brought forward by the opposition — in this case, the Conservative Party of Canada. The government is the Liberals. The Conservatives put forward a motion to strengthen the criminal justice system and stop letting repeat violent offenders out on bail. The vote happened on October 6, 2025, and before the vote during Question Period, here’s what the Liberal Parliamentary Secretary for Combating Crime had to say: “Mr. Speaker, we completely agree that violent and repeat offenders should not be released back into our communities on bail.” So she agreed — but then she said the Liberals have better legislation than the Conservatives, and right after that, they voted no on the motion. So it didn’t pass. Why does this matter? It matters for two reasons: 1️⃣ The Liberals always claim they’re willing to work across the floor, across party lines. But that’s false. 2️⃣ The purpose of an Opposition Day motion isn’t to create binding law — it’s to signal what should be a top priority. Public safety should be a top priority. Protecting victims, keeping families safe — that’s common sense. If you truly believe in being tough on crime, why wouldn’t you vote in favor of this motion to show Canadians that you care and are willing to work together to fix a problem the Liberals created? Because it’s all for show. Ego runs the show — not common sense, not the welfare of Canadians. So what can you do about it? First, understand how policy and procedure actually work.
