PURE Unadulterated STAR WARS Episode 12 - Dark Tide: RUIN w/ Matt Wilkins, SW Skran & JohnGetsGaming
BANEoftheSHILLSFor the 12th Episode of PURE Unadulterated STAR WARS, I'm honored to have @kidcardco, @Star-Wars-Skran & @johnGetsGaming on to deep dive & discuss the Star Wars Expanded Universe. We conclude our discussion of DARK TIDE RUIN (Book 2 of the Duology) by Michael Stackpole; the THIRD book of the EPIC 19 book story arc of THE NEW JEDI ORDER. Tonight we will be covering Chapters 20-37 of the book. If you missed Book 1 or 2 of the New Jedi Order , you may want to go back and watch Episodes 7-11 for our Vector Prime & Dark Tide Onslaught coverage first. Here is the link - https://youtube.com/live/E_alv5p6fHk?feature=share?sub_confirmation=1 This was a massive undertaking by Del Rey publishing & Lucas Licensing. The fine details to this massive story, honoring George Lucas & his use of Joseph Campbell's Hero's Journey. After the controversial & polarizing first book Vector Prime; the baton was passed to a Star Wars Expanded Universe veteran from the Bantam Era, Michael Stackpole. In this duology, Stackpole expands on the Yuuzhan Vong beliefs, customs, brutality as the duology's main antagonist Shedao Shai introduces the characters & the reader to The Embrace of Pain. The Vong continue their relentless expansion across the Outer Rim. Stackpole does a wonderful job with the space battles between Rogue Squadron & the Yuuzhan Vong Coral Skippers, among many other things. The New Jedi Order Series was originally planned as a massive 29 book series, which ended up being settled on as a 19 book series. It broke the norm for the Star Wars Expanded Universe of Standard isolated stories & trilogies. NJO also made the Star Wars Universe a lot more mature & It also rose the stakes significantly. Nobody was safe in the readers eyes; especially after the release of it's first book Vector Prime. The Story Bible created by James Luceno & Daniel Wallace is quite specific & helps define and explain the new antagonists the Yuuzhan Vong, their culture, beliefs, weapons & gear, communication devices, biotechnology etc. Here is a link to my review of the NJO Story Bible for those who want to acquaint themselves as me & my guests discuss this book for you https://youtu.be/2Esn3Lah6eQ?si=2twq0-jEDqKh7PZW?sub_confirmation=1 Some time in the near future Disney Star Wars will release their Rey Palpatine New Jedi Order movie or trilogy. Which as all Disney Wars won't live up the the greatness & timelessness of the Star Wars Expanded Universe. As always PURE Unadulterated STAR WARS is here to pre-empt Faux Disney Wars & provide the SUPERIOR EU Alternative! PURE Unadulterated STAR WARS Episode 13 - Agents of Chaos Book 1 w/ OG Starwars, SW Skran & JohnGets
BANEoftheSHILLSFor the 13th Episode of PURE Unadulterated STAR WARS, we have joining us @OGStarwars, @Star-Wars-Skran & @johnGetsGaming on to deep dive & discuss the Star Wars Expanded Universe. We begin our discussion of Agents of Chaos: Hero's Trial (Book 1 of the Duology) by James Luceno; the FOURTH book of the EPIC 19 book story arc of THE NEW JEDI ORDER. Tonight we will be covering Chapters 1-16 of the book. If you missed Books 1-3 of the New Jedi Order , you may want to go back and watch our Vector Prime & Dark Tide Duology coverage first. Here is the link - https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBGU_ENKCegNlOQxW7ZTQ6y4QB-aa_A2T&si=mOyFLnSpW-UKN09A This was a massive undertaking by Del Rey publishing & Lucas Licensing. James Luceno original only the architect of the outline and main story arcs ended up writing the Agent of Chaos Duology. We get more Yuuzhan Vong lore expansion in this book as we are introduced to the Priest Caste, Eminence Harrar & their Castes ways. This first book of the duology is very Han Solo-centric, yet still expands the Vong lore & moves the main plot forward nicely. This was the first of many books to come from James Luceno, one of the greatest Expanded Universe Authors in my opinion. We start the story with the Yuuzhan Vong decimating the Library World of Obroa-Skai. The New Jedi Order Series was originally planned as a massive 29 book series, which ended up being settled on as a 19 book series.
