She also won Best New Vocalist at the Collie Country Club in 2009 and was a finalist for the Stan Coster Bungendore Bush Ballads Awards in 2021 for her song “Country Girl” from the EP Clem. Kathy’s musical journey includes being a member of several prestigious country bands in Perth before transitioning to a successful solo career. In 2020, she released her third EP, Clem, dedicated to her late father Clem O’Dea, who wrote five of the songs on the album. Now in the early stages of writing her own original material, she is working on new songs for her next recording project. While Kathy enjoys a wide range of musical genres, she always returns to her roots in country music, a passion deeply influenced by her upbringing.
