The life of the well-known Annie Oakley is fictionalized in the American Western television series Annie Oakley. Gail Davis played Annie Oakley in the show, while Jimmy Hawkins played Annie's younger brother, Tagg Oakley, who made an appearance in 80 of the 81 episodes. Brad Johnson played Deputy Sheriff Lofty Craig. Billy Gray plays the role of Tagg in the pilot episode "Bull's Eye". Annie Oakley rides a horse named Target in the series; Pixie is Tagg's horse, and Forest is Lofty's mount.  Annie and Tagg reside with their uncle, Sheriff Luke MacTavish, in the made-up town of Diablo, Arizona. Since he is usually out of town when trouble arises, it is up to straight-shooting Annie and her "silent suitor," Lofty Craig, to apprehend lawbreakers and save law-abiding neighbors.
