Each player starts with $1000. After placing their bets (through the keyboard), the dealer shuffles the cards and deals two face-up cards for each player and one face-up card and one face-down card to himself. He then asks the players to hit more cards or not (up to five). After each player has been dealt a full hand, the dealer reveals his face-down card. He'll take a hit if he has a total of 16 or less. Blackjack or five cards without a bust pays double. The nearest to 21 hands pays even. No money is paid if there is a tie. The computer offers an insurance bet if the dealer's first card is an ace. If the player accepts and the dealer goes blackjack, the player will lose no money. Otherwise, the current bet is won or lost plus a half. Sometimes the computer will also offer a double down. If the player accepts, the bet is doubled and just one more card can be obtained. (Source - MobyGames)8 views -

Due to Videopac's hardware limitations, the Chess Module has extra CPU and memory to make the console have enough power to run the game. The module is connected to the console by a dummy cartridge. The game displays the board on screen and asks the player the color which he or she wants to play with. Depending on the choice, the board will have the numbers 1 to 8 shown at the left side in crescent or decrescent order. The game has 6 levels of difficulty, each corresponding to how many moves ahead the computer can predict (1 move to 6 moves). The game is played using the keyboard to input the coordinates for the movements, using the coordinate notation, i.e., the player enters the letter and number corresponding to the square of origin and to the square of destination. Turn-Based Strategy Theater [S1E16]: "4 in 1 Row" (Magnavox Odyssey 2 - 1982) [NA Version]
GAMING WITH THE DESERTPUNK!Turn-Based Strategy Theater [S1E16] 4 in 1 Row [1列に4個] Magnavox Odyssey 2 Board Game/Turn-Based Strategy 1982 N.V. Phillips Gloeilampenfabrieken UK Version Normal Difficulty Mode CPU vs. CPU * RELATED VIDEO PLAYLISTS: -Turn-Based Strategy Theater: https://rumble.com/playlists/amPbkV1eynE -The Attract Mode Project: https://rumble.com/playlists/GWQng0_fMzs -Old-School Action Theater: https://rumble.com/playlists/OiwarvaoOfE?e9s=src_v1_ucp_pl -Old-School Console Theater: https://rumble.com/playlists/NZeHms3PVHc -Standard Console Theater: https://rumble.com/playlists/UEuK9iop3Fc -Hardcore Console Theater: https://rumble.com/playlists/KdL3xxsx0lc * GAME INFORMATION: 4 in 1 Row is a translation of the Connect Four board game. Two players (Pussycat and Hounddog) take turns dropping colored (red or green) discs in an eight-column six-row grid. The object is to place 4 discs in a row, either vertically, horizontally or diagonally. An strategic indicator number on the right side of the screen, besides each name, will show the chances of each player to get four discs in a row. The higher the number, the higher the chances. If the number reads 125 it means the player is just one move away from winning. The strategic indicator can be turned off by pressing CLEAR. When playing against the computer, two variations with three skill levels are available: Playing against Microcat I, II or III (selected by pressing 1, 2 or 3). Microcat uses a micro-sensor (represented by a μ sign) which will stop over each column calculating its chances. The disc will be dropped where the μ stops. The higher the skill level, the bigger the sensor and calculation times. Playing against Microdog I, II or III (selected by pressing 5, 6 or 7) is similar to playing against Microcat (with the skill levels and μ sensor), but the player can also ask for computer assistance on moves. Whenever player's Pussycat appears, pressing 1, 2 or 3, depending on the skill level, will make the PRESS ENTER text appear along the micro sensor. Once pressed, the computer will take over and will continue until the player presses again 0 and ENTER when Pussycat appears. (Source - MobyGames)4 views -
Turn-Based Strategy Theater [S1E15]: "Yahtzee" (Atari 2600 - 2000) [NA Version]
GAMING WITH THE DESERTPUNK!Turn-Based Strategy Theater [S1E15] Yahtzee [ヤッツィー] Atari 2600 Board Game/Turn-Based Strategy 2000 Homebrew (Russell Babylon) NA Version Normal Difficulty Mode [Only Mode] * RELATED VIDEO PLAYLISTS: -Turn-Based Strategy Theater: https://rumble.com/playlists/amPbkV1eynE -The Attract Mode Project: https://rumble.com/playlists/GWQng0_fMzs -Old-School Action Theater: https://rumble.com/playlists/OiwarvaoOfE?e9s=src_v1_ucp_pl -Old-School Console Theater: https://rumble.com/playlists/NZeHms3PVHc -Standard Console Theater: https://rumble.com/playlists/UEuK9iop3Fc -Hardcore Console Theater: https://rumble.com/playlists/KdL3xxsx0lc * GAME INFORMATION: Here is what the programmer, Russell Babylon, had to say: "At present this is a one player game. The game follows standard Yahtzee rules. The only exception is that you can only score extra Yahtzees as a Yahtzee (some versions of the rules allow you to score extra Yahtzees as combinations less than a Yahtzee). The game control is very intuitive. You use the left joystick to play the game. From the title screen press the fire button to go to the game screen and roll the dice. The five dice are white in color which indicates they are all unselected. Pull the joystick down or move it right or left to highlight a die. The highlighted die will flash. Press the fire button to select the die. Move the joystick in any direction to move away from the die. Notice that the selected die will now be green in color. Repeat the above sequence to select all the dice you wish to keep. Now move the joystick up or down so that no dice are flashing and you have not highlighted any scoring options. Press the fire button to roll the unselected dice. You may roll the dice a total of three times. After any roll you may score your dice combination by pulling down or up repeatedly on the joystick until you have highlighted the scoring option you wish to use. Press the fire button when the appropriate scoring option is highlighted and if your dice combination is correct you will get the appropriate score. There are no take backs so be careful with your scoring. I have been working on some AI algorithms to have the computer play a game of Yahtzee against you but these are in the early stages." Both programmers later developed games for Activision. Atari developed a bank switching ROM cartridge to allow Video Chess prototypes to exceed four kilobytes, the maximum without bank switching. The released version is 4KB at a time when most games were 2KB, and the bank switching technology from the prototype was later used for other Atari VCS games. It was one of six games labeled as "Special Edition" on the box, and some speculate that this designation on these games refers to a combination of the 4KB ROM size and other factors.
