Musikalisch kreativ in jedem Alter (Nov. 2011)

It is a gift from God and should always be used to glorify Him. He blesses us with many things like food, water, & shelter. He also has given us ears to hear good music & sight to watch YouTube videos, read music, etc. However, we don't glorify Him. Most people see themselves as "good," but the Bible says that "All have sinned and fallen short of the glory God." (Romans 3:23) Why? What is sin? Sin is the breaking of God's Laws (1 John 3:4): the Ten Commandments. Let's look at just a few of the Commandments to see how you are doing: How many lies have you told? Have you ever stolen anything (regardless of the value)? Have you ever looked at someone with lust? Have you ever used God's name in vain (as a cuss word, or an exclamation)? This is blasphemy and it is very serious in His sight. Think about it. Who else's name has been used as a cuss word? God, the righteous Judge of the entire universe, will judge those who break His law, and the penalty is an eternity in hell, His prison. However, the Good News (i.e. the Gospel) is that God wants to show mercy to us lawbreakers. God came to earth, wrapped Himself in flesh in the person of Jesus Christ, was tempted in all ways yet was without sin, and died on the cross to pay our penalty. You and I broke God's law, Jesus paid our fine, and He rose on the third day to show that He is God. Now God commands everyone, everywhere to repent, turn from our sins, and trust Jesus as Lord and Savior. He will give you a new heart and place His Spirit within you and when you die, He will bring you into Heaven to be with Him for eternity. #Sor #sheetmusic #guitar116 views 5 comments -
Angels We Have Heard On High / Solo Acoustic Folk Christmas Carol
DDanDDirges“Angels We Have Heard on High” originated as a French carol called “Les Anges dans nos campagnes”, first published in France in 1805. The English version was paraphrased by James Chadwick, a Catholic bishop in England, in 1862. The song retells the biblical story from Luke 2:8–20, where shepherds hear angels proclaiming the birth of Christ, with the famous refrain “Gloria in excelsis Deo.” (Glory to God in the highest) My version is stripped down folk style. Just me singing along with acoustic guitar fingerpicking accompaniment. We`re now in the season of Advent. Four candles like the ones in the video are lit in the four weeks leading up to Christmas day. One for hope, peace, joy and love. More info down below. Angels we have heard on high - lyrics Performed by Dan D. Dirges [Verse 1] Angels we have heard on high Sweetly singing o'er the plains And the mountains in reply Echoing their joyous strains [Chorus] Gloria In Excelsis Deo Gloria In Excelsis Deo [Verse 2] Shepherds why this jubilee? Why your joyous strains prolong? Say what may the tidings be Which inspire your heavenly song? [Chorus] Gloria In Excelsis Deo Gloria In Excelsis Deo [Verse 3] Come to Bethlehem and see Him Whose birth the angels sing; Come, adore on bended knee Christ the Lord, the newborn King [Chorus] Gloria In Excelsis Deo Gloria In Excelsis Deo [Verse 4] See within in a manger laid Jesus Lord of heaven and earth Mary, Joseph lend your aid With us sing our Savior's birth 🎶 Story Behind the Song The lyrics are based on the Nativity story in Luke 2:8–20, where angels announce Christ’s birth to shepherds. The refrain “Gloria in excelsis Deo” (“Glory to God in the highest”) directly quotes the angelic hymn from Luke 2:14. French legend says shepherds would call “Gloria” across hillsides on Christmas Eve, inspiring the carol’s imagery. The song emphasizes joy, cosmic praise, and the shepherds’ humble witness to the divine event. ✨ Legacy Today, it is one of the most beloved Christmas hymns worldwide. Its hallmark is the long, cascading “Gloria” melisma, a musical flourish that symbolizes the angels’ endless praise. The four candles in the video signifies we are in the season of Advent. Advent is a Christian season of anticipation and preparation for the birth of Jesus Christ, marked by lighting four candles on an Advent wreath, one for each of the four weeks leading up to Christmas. The candles typically symbolize Hope (1st week), Peace (2nd week), Joy (3rd week), and Love (4th week), each representing spiritual themes for reflection and prayer. Meaning of the four weeks Week 1: Hope Symbolism: This first candle, often called the "Prophet's Candle," represents the hope for the coming of a savior and the anticipation of Christ's birth. Meaning: It is a time to reflect on the prophecies of old, such as those from Isaiah, and the hope for a new beginning. Week 2: Peace Symbolism: Known as the "Bethlehem Candle," it represents the peace of Christ, both as the Prince of Peace and the peace on Earth that his birth heralded. Meaning: This week's theme is about trusting in God's presence and his promise of peace. Week 3: Joy Symbolism: The "Shepherd's Candle" symbolizes the joy experienced by the shepherds when they learned of Jesus' birth, and it marks the midpoint of the Advent season. Meaning: This week is an opportunity to celebrate the joy that God brings into our lives and to find gladness even in waiting. Week 4: Love Symbolism: This "Angel's Candle" represents the love of God for humanity and the love we should have for one another. Meaning: It is a time to contemplate God's boundless love that surrounds us and to prepare our hearts for the celebration of Christmas. The Love of God - #MusicMonday
Rebekah Joy PolderRebekah Polder playing her arrangement of The Love of God on the Piano for Music Monday on Truth Social. Lyrics: The love of God is greater far Than tongue or pen can ever tell. It goes beyond the highest star And reaches to the lowest hell. The guilty pair, bowed down with care, God gave His Son to win; His erring child He reconciled And pardoned from his sin. O love of God, how rich and pure! How measureless and strong! It shall forevermore endure— The saints’ and angels’ song. When hoary time shall pass away, And earthly thrones and kingdoms fall; When men who here refuse to pray, On rocks and hills and mountains call; God’s love, so sure, shall still endure, All measureless and strong; Redeeming grace to Adam’s race— The saints’ and angels’ song. Could we with ink the ocean fill, And were the skies of parchment made; Were every stalk on earth a quill, And every man a scribe by trade; To write the love of God above Would drain the ocean dry; Nor could the scroll contain the whole, Though stretched from sky to sky. Wade In The Water / Traditional Folk Song
DDanDDirgesWade In The Water is a traditional American folk song. Guitar and vocal WADE IN THE WATER - lyrics Wade in the water Wade in the water, children, Wade in the water God's going to trouble the water See that host all dressed in white God's going to trouble the water The leader looks like an Israelite God's going to trouble the water See that band all dressed in red God's going to trouble the water Looks like the band that Moses led God's going to trouble the water Look over yonder, what do I see? God's going to trouble the water The Holy Ghost coming down on me God's going to trouble the water If you don't believe I've been redeemed God's going to trouble the water Just follow me down to the Jordan's stream God's going to trouble the water #wadeinthewater #TraditionalAmericanFolkSongs22 views 1 comment -
