Traveler's Log - REDO | ORIGINAL Lyrics | Poem to Song
Motley MurmursI am exploring what this song would sound like using a similar style as my poem to song called 'Stand United'. Contents some minor rewrites and edits. Wrote this poem more than twenty years ago. Coming back to turn it into a song brings back memories of all shapes and sizes. I went on these adventures with family or friends, and I’ve been on many since writing this. Some by myself, some with family or friends. There is so much more I could add. I need to write another Traveler’s Log to cover all the new adventures. And still, I have not done as much as I really want, so I look forward to the trails I have yet to trod. Picture: Primitive Truck Camping in 2017 near Tonopah, AZ. - - - - - Lyrics: I've driven through the Painted Desert drenched in rain, no colors could be seen through misted panes. Walked the northern edges of the Grand Canyon wild, the weather was brisk and icy, anything but mild. Dabbled my toes in California's salty colds, tasted Maine’s humid and salty seas of new and old. I've camped in bitter cold and scorching heat, walked the Petrified Forest with flip-flops on my feet. Seen Key West, Florida, America’s southern-most point, hiked through the mountains of New Mexico, beauty rejoiced. In these many scenic routes I always seem to find something beautiful and worth my time of getting lost… and getting tossed… into another grand adventure. I’ve swam in springs filled with little fish, thrown pennies in a well and made a wish. Slept outside under crystal clear stars, in cozy cabins, rugged tents, and even cars. Woken to rain washing my campsite away, stopped by morning, revealing the heat of day. I've braved the shadows of the night, walked for hours in sun’s glowing light. Sat entranced by many blazing fires, counted stars and my own hearts deepest desires. In these many scenic routes I always seem to find something beautiful and worth my time of getting lost… and getting tossed… into another grand adventure. I’ve been awakened by birds and kids and dogs, midnight creatures from trees, streams, and bogs. Seen the alligator from mere feet away, in the Everglades where they hold nature’s sway. Watched fish fly, wild birds dance, and century plants bloom, their petals foretell of anything but gloom and doom. I've stood in Carlsbad Caverns pitch-black cave, Seen the bats take flight from their hole in waves. Stood next to twelve-foot-high cactus reaching for the sky, gotten lost on many roads, that much I can't deny! In these many scenic routes I always seem to find something beautiful and worth my time... of getting lost (lost) and getting tossed (tossed) getting tossed (tossed) into another grand adventure grand adventure adventure. - - - - - #IndieHipHop #SunoMusic #AIMusic #PoemToSong #StorytellingMusic #AdventureSong #TravelSong #ScenicRoutes #RoadTripVibes #WanderlustMusic #NatureInspired #GrandAdventure #GettingLost #ExploreMore #TravelLife #OutdoorVibes17 views 4 comments -
Dancing Lullabies - REDO | ORIGINAL Lyrics | Poem to Song
Motley MurmursI am exploring what this song would sound like using a similar style as my poem to song called 'Stand United'. Contains some minor rewrites and edits. A story of an unnamed girl born old and wise, with a soul connected to the forest, the winds, the earth, the sky. As she matures toward a final end her body grows young (ages backwards), and she hopes to retain the wisdom and knowledge of her old age. At the end she must decide. Does she stay where she is even though it's lonely? Or does she let go and accept an invite into a new and unknown place that might not be so lonely but risk losing what she gained in her old age? - - - - - Read original poetry and prose here: https://www.inkitt.com/MotleyMurmurs Get a new journal here: https://www.amazon.com/author/duskloupdesigns - - - - - Lyrics: She lay upon a bed of leaves under a towering canopy of trees. She's always known the truth behind why the moon shines so bright and why the stars twinkle in the night the night the night. These secrets are as ancient to her as the blooming of a century plant, and the reason why everything must die. When darkness comes and daylight fades innocence is given in the coming of birth, clean and pristine under an early morning sun. Future years of life crumple up in crevices filled with wisdom of the ages, collected from the past as she falls prey to ever singing winds and dancing lullabies dancing lullabies. She made the woods her home and called the trees her throne. The sun, moon, and stars, the blue of the sky, the green of the earth and black of night are the only colors she has ever known ever known. For so long she dwelt within its embrace that if she claims any other such place it would rend the spirit from the woods. Whispering breath of earth’s echoing tunes murmur lullabies that dance in her mind’s eye telling of faraway places where songs become alive in the wind the wind the wind. She had little time left to think on her youth, of how she wishes to make her presence known before she grows too young to be remembered. She waits among trees and under the leaves for a sound; a chorus of echoing voices telling her to throw caution into dancing dancing. She made the woods her home and called the trees her throne. The sun, moon, and stars, the blue of the sky, the green of the earth and black of night are the only colors she has ever known ever known. Sung by kindred winds calling out to her heart, ancient spirits sooth her soul into the Forever where she yearns to rest her weary head. It's in the Everlasting far above her throne where ancient bones pay no mind to youthful slips so the young will never die old. Where days are counted with wishes fulfilled and nights are claimed by a resplendent choral awash with the joys of ever singing winds and dancing lullabies dancing lullabies dancing lullabies. dancing lullabies. - - - - - #folksong #EmotionalMusic #LyricalSong #DeepLyrics #AestheticVibes #PoetryMusic #NatureSong #FolkPoetry #ForestSong #MythicPoetry #EtherealMusic #ArtThroughWords #OriginalLyrics17 views 1 comment -
Tears of Blood | ORIGINAL Lyrics | Poem to Song
Motley MurmursThere is a place where life is a curse, and in this place even the vociferous laughter of the One who claims Death hears the cries of the multitudes that beg for forgiveness... and find it too late. >>> With Jesus, there is a place where life has worth and purpose, and in this place the vehement lamentations of those hearing Death's laughter can choose to seek redemption...and will never find it too late. ~~ Jesus Prays on the Mount of Olives - Luke 22:39-46 ~~ Jesus went out as usual to the Mount of Olives, and his disciples followed him. On reaching the place, he said to them, “Pray that you will not fall into temptation.” He withdrew about a stone’s throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed, “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him. And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground. When he rose from prayer and went back to the disciples, he found them asleep, exhausted from sorrow. “Why are you sleeping?” he asked them. “Get up and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.” - - - - - Lyrics: Tears of blood There is a place where man is man’s worst foe, and from them nature receives its final blow, to perish under seas of red hatred, that flows from those crying tears of blood. It flows thick and fast and crimson red, deep vermilion light soaks into the sun, reflecting off deadly ruby waters, setting the sky... …on fire. When the earth is littered with sins of the past, and man’s last days are upon them, what blissful conclusion will man find for eternal redemption from lasting transgressions? It flows thick and fast and crimson red, deep vermilion light soaks into the sun, reflecting off deadly ruby waters, setting the sky... …on fire. Crimson… Crimson Sky on fire… Sky on fire Tears of blood… Tears of blood... What blissful conclusion will man find for eternal redemption from lasting transgressions? - - - - - #PoetryMusic #DarkPoetry #ApocalypticPoem #GothicPoetry #OriginalAISong #Poetryinsong #CinematicMusic #EmotionalMusic #DystopianPoetry #DarkMusic #ArtisticExpression #DeepPoetry #christiansongs #ApocalypticFolk #DoomFolk #darkambient #propheticmusic #CinematicFolk #SunoAI #FemaleVocalist #darkmusic #revelationsong #judgmentday #christianmusic #PostRockHymn #gothicrock #gothicpoem24 views 4 comments -
Falling Up | OIRGINAL Lyrics | Poem to Song
Motley MurmursWhat do you want? What are you willing to give up to get it? What are you willing to risk to get it? Will it be worth having even if you might lose it after you get it? What if in the striving for what you want, you fail to get it but it leads to something so much better (or maybe worse) than you could ever imagine? Even with an unpredictable outcome, would it still be worth the effort? Posted up in my DeviantArt account (https://www.deviantart.com/motleymurmurs) in 2005. I used to know and understand this premise but somewhere along the way, I forgot. The past few years has been a journey through the Valley of Shadows, but it's been sprinkled with reminders.... Ones that have helped motivation and inspire, and just all around keep me going. Turning this old poem into a sung is just another reminder along the way. Picture: Dandelion in my backyard. Read original poetry and prose here: https://www.inkitt.com/MotleyMurmurs Get a new journal here: https://www.amazon.com/author/duskloupdesigns - - - - - Lyrics: If we all knew our limits, but we tried something new, If we reached beyond those walls. could we dare to ever lose the things we hold most dear for something we cannot comprehend unless we give it all away? Will we stand on our own two feet and faithfully follow the one true light? Can we borrow strength gained in the waiting and wisdom gained in the struggle to knock down those walls and walk beyond our limits and give it all away? (Give it all away) If we have found what we seek, only to fall hard to the ground, would we stay where we fell, too scared we’d fall again and risk not gaining back what we now want more than life itself? Faithfully follow the one true light, knocking down those walls, walking beyond our limits, toward the one true light, and give it all away. (Give it all away) We all fall many times in our lives. It is only human that we fail, But try again and risk it all, Give it away and we will find The walls are gone and limits broken. The things we once feared to lose, We now fear to gain back. Give it all away... (Give it all away) and you will find... (Give it all away) the walls are gone... (walls are gone) the limits broken... (limits broken) Give it all away... (give it all away...) what we now fear to gain back... Give it all away... (give it all away...) for what we now want more than life itself... (Give it all away...) (Give it all away...) Autumn | OIRGINAL Lyrics | Poem to Song
Motley MurmursWritten at some point in 2012 and inspired by the rose bush in my backyard (photo). It goes into hibernation during the winter. I always look forward to it blooming again in the spring, and it has yet to disappoint. I purposefully made it into a song that's easy to dance to, so make of it what you will. Sorry for the poor AI pronunciations on a few of the words, but this one is the best rendition out of around twenty different versions. I am done messing with it so, it's good enough. You can find the original poem here: https://www.deviantart.com/motleymurmurs/art/Autumn-324394253 - - - - - Lyrics: I’ll be waiting… ...I’ll be waiting. Last rose of summer, folded neat and slow. Melting into shadow, where wild thorns grow that raised it graceful into vibrant beauty. Hold on one last tepid night with exhaled farewell to daylight's fading glow, waiting for summer to come again, to see rose's bloom upon the morn. Seasons turn and frostbite burns, the loop keeps spinning. Every ending is a beginning In the rose garden of life. Until it meets again the light, Until it hails again the day, Until it feels again the warmth, I’ll be waiting… ...I’ll be waiting. Falling trees and browning leaves, come with chilly autumn breeze. Rose thorns remain but petals close with coming winter's frost and snow upon summer-end's final glow. Trading gilded gold for futures unknown, Hushed desires lay in wait, but roots remain, they relate to heart's yearn delayed. Until it meets again the light, Until it hails again the day, Until it feels again the warmth, I’ll be waiting… ...I’ll be waiting. Seasons turn and frostbite burns, the loop keeps spinning. Every ending is a beginning In the rose garden of life. Until it meets again the light, Until it hails again the day, Until it feels again the warmth, I’ll be waiting… ...I’ll be waiting. ...I’ll be waiting… ...I’ll be waiting... ...I’ll be waiting. - - - - - #poemsong #youtubepoetry #PoetryMusic #SeasonsPoetry #CycleOfLife #WaitingInWinter #RenewalPoem #folkpoetry #emotionallyrics #reflectivemusic #AImusic53 views 1 comment -
Whispering in the Dark | ORIGINAL Lyrics | Poem to Song
Motley MurmursAnother poem I had written where I was trying to write about something else, but nothing else would come out so I gave in. Just trying to ease the weight of heavy thoughts and work through reconciling with unresolvable burdens. Welcome to a tiny piece of the chaos that lives rent-free in mah brainzz. The song isn't really about Halloween, but it's got the right dark vibes so... Happy Halloween!! - - - - - Lyrics: Whispering in the dark, praying for something to start. Pushing buttons to broken elevators, wishing for a change in elevation. Standing still with empty hands holding a life turned to sand. Ghosts of dreams crushed barely recalled haunt barren spaces and waiting room walls. Calling out names of the Holy One, seeking escape from the weight of it all. Elohim. Running into walls for as long as it takes, for them to crumble, for them to break, Calling on Yahweh to brighten the shadows on the dark side of an uncertain line between glorious sun and odious shade. The body wages endless war as the mind carries the storm. Thoughts and emotions deprived of expression battle denial, what ifs, and maybes on the dark side of an uncertain line between what was and what still can be. Count the quality, not the quantity, of all the days on the calendar that come and go as new reminders there’s still hope in the eyes of eternity... …eternity… …eternity. El Shaddai. Running into walls for as long as it takes, for them to crumble, for them to break, Calling on Yahweh to brighten the shadows on the dark side of an uncertain line between glorious sun and odious shade. Emmanuel. It takes time to relinquish control, to calm a reeling mind of my own. Weary and worn, tired and bored, seeking direction on an unknown path that holds promise of something better that lasts. Hosanna. Whispering in the dark, praying for something to start. …Never give up… …never surrender. Adonai. - - - - - #poetry #aimusic #originallyrics #PopRock #PoeticRock #DarkPopRock38 views -
Highway Made of Stars | ORIGINAL Poem to Song
Motley MurmursJust trying to ease the weight of heavy thoughts and work through reconciling with unresolvable burdens. I tried for two weeks to write about something else. Anything else. But nothing else would come out so I gave in. Welcome to a tiny piece of the chaos that lives rent-free in mah brainzz. Picture 1: Primitive camping, Sierra Vista, Arizona Picture 2: Somewhere in northern British Columbia, Canada Picture 3: Somewhere in northern British Columbia, Canada Picture 4: Primitive camping, Las Cruces, New Mexico Picture 5: Primitive camping, Tonopah, Arizona Picture 6: Somewhere northern Washington state off Hwy 101 near Puget Sound. Picture 7: Twanoh State Park Campground, Belfair, Washington - - - - - - Lyrics Maybe I wasn't born early enough, should have lived in the old west, or farther back in the dark ages where the land was open and free of fences and cages. In a time, when highways made of stars and galaxies spread across the vast abyss was a lone traveler’s only light. Where adventure begins at pavement's end, and dirt paths weave like forest streets through the beauty of divine creations. I wonder what difference it would have made to be born with a soul granted escape into the wilds under a highway made of stars, perhaps a bit lonely but never alone. Maybe I wasn't born late enough, when repairs can be made for grave mistakes, that make it hard to breathe, ... hard to hold on to what's true, ... hard to see dreams followed through, without ruining honest reliance on the almighty God of my heart while the world beats into my head that independence is not stripped by the dependent essence of the collective... ... but we all know it strives to do just that. ...it strives to do just that. I used to go along to get along, even to the detriment of my heart. I was not blameless as I indulged in the comforts of my misplaced life, riddled with holes in hearts and broken parts scattered about in an endless fray. ... fray. I wonder what difference it would have made to be born with a soul granted escape into the wilds under a highway made of stars, perhaps a bit lonely but never alone. In small, quiet breaks carved out in the fray, far I go from crowded rooms out into the wild blue where I find God in the distant yonders where I roam. Wayfaring eyes search a night sky for a highway made of stars far above where I lay my head to rest and sing a little song saying, “this is where I belong.” I wonder what difference it would have made to be born with a soul granted escape into the wilds under a highway made of stars... ...a highway made of stars. ...perhaps a bit lonely... ...maybe always yearning... ...but never losing hope... ...in the fray. ...in the fray. - - - - - - #HighwayMadeOfStars #PoeticSong #Poetry #songpoem #StorytellingInSong #SoulfulReflections #AmbientStorytelling #SpiritualJourney #FaithAndWanderlust #CinematicMusic #AcousticSoul #AmbientPoetry #ExistentialFolk #MusicForTheSoul #ModernBallad74 views 2 comments -

Stand United | ORIGINAL Lyrics | Poem to Song
Motley MurmursI was striving for a serious and contemplative mood that carried with it an inspirational and encouraging tune by mixing pop rock and a subtle hip hop cadence. After many versions made in Suno, I think this is as close as I can get to what I hear in my head. There will not be a male vocals version. I wrote the original poem in 2021 when I realized just how much more deceptive the political left is than I already thought...and how easy it is for the media to lie about everything. I realized that we are in a war of a different kind, and we are fighting battles that don't look like anything we have seen before. And now with the murder of a good man for no reason this poem has taken on a deeper meaning and a bolder message. No one can truly fill Charlie Kirk's shoes, but I hope and pray the unfortunate inspiration that comes from his absence motivates and inspires us all to take up his mantle and carry his mission into the dark places he so bravely strode, even knowing his life may be in danger. The US and the world need his message now more than ever. - - - - - This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s. ~ 2 Chron 20:15 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. ~Joshua 1:9 Praise be to the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle. He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me. ~ Psalm 144:1-2 - - - - - Read original poetry and prose here: https://www.inkitt.com/MotleyMurmurs Get a new journal here: https://www.amazon.com/author/duskloupdesigns - - - - - Lyrics: I've never been to war, but battle comes in many forms, for our pride, for our honor, for this nation, and its people. History is blistering with mistakes and victories, but listen and learn, the truth will be laid bare, not your truth but the truth of how and why we're here. Stand firm, patriots, with the colors flying high, live unbound on our feet, be not coerced to our knees. Warriors bleed as Lady Liberty pleads for justice and peace, as enemies offer empty promises and beguiling hypocrisies. I've never been to war, but battle comes in many forms, for our words, for our souls, for our families, and our unity. There's many reasons for joy, and a surplus steeped in sorrow, but one nation under God be not torn asunder. Be forewarned of distracting semantics and deflecting rationales. Guard well against the enemy and their deceptive lips bespeaking bogus empathy for passionate woes, granting counterfeit statuses aiming to cleave souls conjoined. Stand with hand to heart and eyes to the stars and stripes, for the truth and our freedoms so long fought and won. Warriors bleed as Lady Liberty pleads for justice and peace as we rise to meet her demands with righteous dignity. I've never been to war, but battle comes in many forms, for our words, for our souls, for our families, and our unity. There's many reasons for joy, and a surplus steeped in sorrow, but one nation under God be not torn asunder. I've never been to war, but battle comes in many forms, for our hearts, for our future, and this Republic for which we stand. Should We the People abide united, nothing can divide. not their vile words not their wicked ways for this great nation our home We the People stand united with our words with our honor for this great nation our home. - - - - - #poetry #poemtosong #motivationalmusic #unity #poems #indiemusic #lyrical #inspirational #turningpointusa #turningpoints104 views 2 comments -
Elusion (Male Vocals) ORIGINAL Lyrics | Punk Rock Ballad
Motley MurmursThe original poem started out as an exploration of the thought-juices in my own brainscape and how my imagination is a more interesting form of escapism than a lot of what the real world has to offer. But this song, based on the original poem, turned into a comment on world events and how there are a lot of oblivious people with a habit of sticking their heads in the sand, so they don't have to see logic and reason even if it's sitting right in front of them. So, this has a lot of meanings... and can mean whatever the viewer wants it to mean to them. The inspiration for the musical styles I used for creating this song in Suno comes from "Swing Life Away" by Rise Against. Unfortunately, Suno is not very good at making a song with just acoustic guitar for the instrumentals. Picture was taken while camping at Purtis Creek State Park in Texas in 2016. :) - - - - - Lyrics: [Verse 1] Bother us not with the dreary and tame; worry us not with monotonous claims. There's adventure afoot in our mind's eye so worry us not with reality's sighs. [Verse 2] Excuses are simple and ignorance unshown, we'll simply shrug and say, "If only I had known." Lie and pretend knowing more than we do, Nod and smile and tease when we don't. [Chorus] It troubles us not to ignore matter of fact since we have no idea what that truly means. We'll write our own stories and make our own lands; we'll build our own castles and dig our own graves. [Verse 3] In our mind's eye, no pursuit is pointless (life is void of gray) as we grant ourselves hushed desires (to keep away dismay) It’s better to flout than explain what we can hardly name, 'specially when the world outside is scarcely the same. [Chorus] It troubles us not to ignore matter of fact since we have no idea what that truly means. We'll write our own stories and make our own lands; we'll build our own castles and dig our own graves. [break] [Outro] There's disaster afoot in our high walls so worry us not with logical calls. We'll live blissful deep in our fictional homes thinkin' we're strong and bold and brave, as we hide in our castles and lay in our graves. [break] [Chorus] We'll write our own stories and make our own lands; we'll build our own castles and dig our own graves. - - - - - #PunkRock #PunkBallad #OriginalSong #IndiePunk #PunkRockMusic #PunkPoetry #AlternativeMusic #PunkRockBallad #RockBallad #IndieMusic #PunkVibes #AltPunk #RockPoetry #indiemusic #UndergroundMusic #BalladWithEdge #PunkLife #NewMusic #EmotionalPunk - - - - - Read this original poem and many others on my Inkitt account: https://www.inkitt.com/MotleyMurmurs Get a new journal to jot down all those poem and music ideas!
