The Filioque argument of 1054ad, between the Catholic and Orthodox churches, the controversy of “whether the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father, or the Father and the Son”, the filioque is “and the Son”. Catholicism says yes the Spirit proceeds from the Father and Son, but the Orthodox deny and call it false teaching that the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Son. What I want to do here is step into this argument with a 3rd angle, and use Scripture alone to see how to answer this question. Because both Catholicism and Orthodoxy reject Scripture as authority, so I want to use Scripture alone and see whether or not this nigh thousand year old question of the Filioque can be settled.
