Simple Useful Wiring Mod For The AC/Electric-Fan Setup's (2000/2001 XJ's ONLY!)... This simple little mod makes it so that the electric fan will kick on and STAY on the entire time you're running the AC system, so the fan won't cycle off-on-off-on or not even kick on at all (if it doesnt hit the target High Pressure-PSI of above 280/320psi on that switch)... From the factory, they kick on at 280psi, and kick off at 235psi via the switch grounding the 'Radiator Fan Request Wire' that only the 2000-2001 model XJ's had... The Light Green wire is grounded anytime while AC is selected inside on the knob... The Tan wire is a Ground trigger, and is the 'Radiator Fan Request wire' that kicks the electric fan on via grounding it, anytime you have both (The Knob inside is on a AC position AND that Tan wire is grounded) it won't operate the fan if the Knob inside isn't in a AC position... So by joining the Light Green wire and Tan wires together with a butt connector, it makes it so the Light Green wire instantly Ground the Tan wire soon as you select the AC setting inside the Jeep, so that makes the electric fan kick on instantly and stay running the whole time the AC is on... Has ZERO downsides to doing this simple 30 second mod! Only benifits!

Got tired of replacing the door latches with more expensive door latches, where their locks will eventually do the same thing again... So I went back to the nice beefy old school door lock Actuator style door locks, instead of the cheap wimpy door lock motors that the Germans switched over to using in 1997 on the XJ's... I've been using the Universal style door lock actuators from this company for over 10+ years on dozens of custom classic cars/trucks over the years with zero failures to date, so I decided to begin installing them in all my Jeeps doors as the factory ones keep going out/acting up more and more frequently...

1-year old NoCo brand Jump-box jumping my Jeep off so I could go to work this morning... Not drove it in 3 days, and left my dash camera on the whole weekend which killed the battery by accident... Will hook my Optima 12 Amp battery charger up to it when I get home this evening so it'll be fully charged again so it won't stress the alternator trying to run everything and charge the battery at the same time... Bought this jumper box last year on the black Friday sell, so it's exactly 1 year old now haha

Home made Fully Adjustable Idle-Speed controller for our older Jeep Cherokees & Grand Cherokees... You can choose from Auto controlled (Stock), or Manual controlled (Adjustable) back and forth on thr fly with one simple click of the knob to choose between modes... It always defaults into Auto-mode after each power cycle of the key, so you never have to worry about it on your daily driver since it's literally same as stock till you press the button to swap it over to Manual control... Works like a champ, and does not trigger an engine light at all, and is totally safe to use... It has TONS of usable applications in the real-world too for raising the the rpms up & holding them steady for winching, or just for more alternator output, or faster warm-up times in the winter... Or idle it all the way back the other way, and have it hold back (engine-brake) really well down hills!

Showing the quick free way to trigger the stock electric fan setup to come on, via grounding the relay pin that triggers the fan normally... This WILL cause a Check Engine Light to come on while you're using this, but their are no down sides to this method besides that... And it's 100% reversible with no harm done to the Jeep at all... You can hook it up this way in mear seconds after watching this video... Just make sure if you're doing this, to check the pin slots first to see which slot comes off and on with the key (it should be a 12v + with the key turned foward to the RUN position) in this 1998 XJ case, that pin is the #85 relay pin slot... That one is a 12v Key-on + wire... So you'll then know that the other pin slot across from that one (#86 pin) will be the Ground trigger pin slot for the relay... And that's the one you'll want to add your Ground trigger wire to, to do this simple little mod...

Simple mod, that takes a cruise control servo (preferably from a parts Jeep) and allows you to raise and hold the idle rpms of the Jeep at a steady RPM while you are winching... This was my first test of the idea, and was only possible after studying the systems wiring diagram from the Service Mauals, and carefully testing how things work in a working cruise control system via a led test light and probing into the oem wiring while driving... Once I understood how the system worked, I was able to get a cruise control servo & wire harness pig-tail from a 1996 ZJ 4.0 parts Jeep to test my idea and figure out the wiring setup to make it function... My final goal is to use the rear window wiper switch as the controls in the long run... Cut its 4-pin connector off the back of the switch, and wire it to a ground source so the switches & button presses will all be grounded outputs to do what I need them to do... It also has a key-on 12v power source there at that switch too... I need 3 wires... 12v + with the Key-on... Ground with the wiper switch in the WIPE position... Ground momentary output when the rear washer button is momentarily touched. . That's it!... Then simply slide the switch to the ON position, and tap the WASH button to set the RPMs where you want them... Then slide the switch to the OFF position to go back to a normal idle again...

Found a 12v to 19v (20-amp) Step-up converter I forgot I had for another project in the past, and I decided to play with it since I've always wanted to hear what one of these stock fans would sound like running at a much higher voltage than stock, and see how much more air they may pull with the extra rpms... Well today was my chance to finally get to try that (just for fun, not gonna do this except just for this experiment was all)... It sounded EXACTLY like my 16" SPAL name brand electric fan that I run on my 1997 ZJ LOL... It was amazing this little 10" or 12" stock fan could sound exactly like a full size 16" fan with the increase in voltage haha...

Got a cool tip for y'all with older (1984-1996) XJ's... Inside the volatage gauge, there is a clear plastic peice that internally has a magnet attached to it, that can slide up or down on the metal body of the copper winding inside the gauge its self... This is what they use and how they calibrate the stock gauge! The deeper down you slide that peice into the metal body, the higher the voltage needle will read on the gauge (and vice-versa) and over time, years of vibration and bumps can EASILY make that peice slide up or down on its own, and throw the accuracy of the Voltage needle WAY off in either direction... It doesn't take much adjustment at all either for that needle to move!! It's very sensitive to any changes made To fix this issue and recalibrate your orignal gsuge your self, simply remove the gauge from the cluster (just two screws on the back) and get to fine tuning it till you get it showing the perfect voltage to match what a multi-meter reads out with the engine running like I did... Then super glue that plastic calibration peice in place so it won't vibrate loose and lose it's adjustment ever again!
