This is a video I uploaded some 16 years ago on old account on which I carelessly lost details and am locked out. Anyway, have decided to upload some more tracks from it in better quality. This one is the song "Stupid Thing", which comes from Aimee's debut solo album "Whatever" - only part of the song, but that is all there ever was. I think it was recorded in a Stockholm hotel room with band member Clayton Scoble. A great song - and a somewhat rare performance. Taken from the Special Edition of the Lost In Space album from 2003, this is a cover of the Coldplay song "The Scientist", performed live in Brussels in 2003. This is a pretty rare music video by Aimee Mann from the year 2000. The song is taken from the brilliant "Bachelor No 2" album, and is a tribute to the Daniel Clowes graphic novel of the same name. Ghost World was also made into a feature film in 2001 - although slightly different to the graphic novel, it was/is a lovely film - starring Steve Buscemi and Scarlett Johansson. Another track from the 1986 show at the Ritz in New York City by 'Til Tuesday called "Just Like Me" Again this was unreleased, presumably not making the final cut for the "Voices Carry" album. In my opinion, better than a few songs which did get included. Aimee's bass guitar sounding great, as does the playing by everyone. Here is another rarity - the song "When He Puts His Head Down", which was never officially released - performed live by 'Til Tuesday in Detroit in 1987. Such a great sound from Aimee and the boys. This is the original lyric version of "Voices Carry", that the record company wouldn't release until the lyrics were adapted to a more heterosexual reading. How times have changed. When they were, we had the monster MTV smash with its epic video. But this original version was how it was written - Aimee says it is meant to be seen as a man singing to a girl. But with her powerful vocal it can be seen as something very different. A super performance, with Aimee only recently having left her earlier punk period, and looking very different.
