Gaming is a hobby that's supposed to be fun, but the rise of competitive gaming and the weird online cult of anger has slowly made these games less and less enjoyable. There are tons of fantastic online games that do offer tons of fun content, from shooters like Fortnite and Marvel Rivals to MMORPGs like World of Warcraft, RuneScape and even Final Fantasy XIV. Modern video games have some advantages over the classics, but they also suffer from so many problems that did not need to affect them so drastically. One such issue with gaming now is the always-online component and the lack of game preservation. These games are so reliant on the internet and so reliant on connectivity features, that they completely crumple and fade away without these. Meanwhile, games from the earlier console generations can be played with no problems, to this day. I really want to see PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo succeed, because it pushes them to be better and offer better experiences to the people who enjoy their creations. In a little over a month, the Wii U eShop and the Nintendo 3DS eShop will effectively shut down. After that point, there will be no more purchases allowed on either store. I'm convinced that some of these terminally online people are insane. Also this game has the first Transgender Wizarding World character in it so by the same logic I've seen online, it appears that anyone who is boycotting this game doesn't like the LGBTQ? Obviously that isn't the case, but if we're throwing around ultimatums and name-calling, it can go both ways. People really need to settle down and just spend their own money however they legally want to do so.
