In the final story "The House of the Seven Gables", the Pyncheon family suffers from a hundred year old curse and the Pyncheon brother returns to his home to search for a hidden vault.

This was a Roger Croman foray into merging the mythos of HP Lovecraft into the then contemporary gothic horror style of the 1960s Hammer era. Loosely based on the story The Case of Charles Dexter Ward this movie blends the base cosmic horror story seamlessly into a gothic horror tone popular in drive in double features of the time. Staring Vincent Price, Lon Chaney Jr and forgotten sex symbol Debra Paget this movie was a staple of the pre-Halloween season in my youth.

This Roger Corman classic staring Vincent Price is based (very loosely) on the Edgar Allen Poe story of the same name. Corman’s success with these Poe adaptations was a large part of the mid 60s Siler age of horror. This particular film was influential on later Italian horror classics like Deep Red. Enjoy
