Anti-Drone Ammo: Factory and Improvised Solutions
Cap & Ball Digital StrategiesIn today's entry into the Dead Calibers Archive we take a look at two very different takes on creating an effective anti-drone solution. One a Russo-Ukranian wildcat loading that has seen a number of iterations and revisions, the other a factory loading developed by well-known ammunition manufacturer Norma using unique materials. Details about both of these rounds are slowly filtering into English speaking channels and any standardized testing of the 5.45 buckshot seems to be completely absent, all we have is Telegram videos and reporting from channels such as The Armorer's Bench for this wildcat. Norma's AD-LER shell does not seem to be available here stateside, so third party testing will probably be a way off, and I could see it having some difficulty getting imported due to the materials used. We'll have to wait and see just how effective it ends up being, as at time of publication it does not seem to have been fielded in combat conditions. All this preamble is to say, if you have any additional details or corrections on either of these cartridges feel free to share them! 02:42 - 5.45x39mm Buckshot 08:29 - Norma's AD-LER 12 gauge shotshells 18:30 - Conclusion 20:16 - Bloopers & Credits Need 2A Digital Marketing? Multi ball Cartridge History
Cap & Ball Digital StrategiesToday we talk about the history of multi-ball cartridges. Now most people may think of shotgun shells when a cartridge that fires multiple projectiles is mentioned. However, rifles and handguns have a surprisingly long history of using two or three bullets in a single cartridge. In this video we look at the earliest concepts, for this cartridge and how the idea keeps coming around again and again, even today, despite it having severe drawbacks. 10mm auto vs .40 S&W: The Brother War | The Dead Calibers Archive
Cap & Ball Digital StrategiesWant premier Digital Marketing for your 2A Business? Visit Cap & Ball Digital Strategies - https://www.capandballseo.com/book-a-consultation/ Dive into the epic 10mm Auto vs .40 S&W battle from history to modern day. We begin with origins – the 10mm Auto was introduced in 1983, and after the FBI’s notorious 1986 Miami shootout (which exposed the limits of ammo at the time), Smith & Wesson/Winchester developed the shorter .40 S&W round in 1990 to meet the FBI's performance expectations. However, there's much more to this story and we dive into some of the earliest 10mm/.40 Caliber pistol cartridge experiments and how we ended up with the 10mm Auto and the .40 S&W we know today. Topics covered: ○ History & Origins: 10mm Auto’s birth (Jeff Cooper’s design, Bren Ten, 1983) and the FBI’s hunt for more firepower leading to the .40 S&W (debut 1990) after Miami. ○ Iconic 10mm Pistols: A look at classic and modern handguns chambered in 10mm (Colt Delta Elite 1911, Glock 20, S&W Model 1076, and the iconic Bren Ten). ○ Performance: Ballistic comparison of 10mm vs .40 S&W – muzzle energy and velocity. ○ Modern Relevance: Why some shooters are rediscovering 10mm for hunting and self-defense, while law enforcement embraced – and eventually moved away from – the .40 S&W. ○ Mythbusting: Is 10mm Auto really the hand cannon round that you think it is? Or does .40 S&W have some practical advantages that made the FBI choose it over the 10mm Auto?
