Jn.8:17-9 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true. I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me. Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also. Jn.8:42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. Jn.16:28 I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father. 17:8 ... I came out from thee Jn.6: 62 What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? 1 Cor.15:47 The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from heaven. Jn.8:23 ... I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world. Jn.5:17 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. Lk.24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you Jn.10:15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father v30 I and my Father are one Jn.20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. Jn.14:28 I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I. 15:24 both me and my Father. Rev.3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. This might sound strange if you listen the Oneness teachers as they seem to think they alone have the revelation that Jesus is the I AM of the Old Testament.(Ex.3:14, Jn.8:58) But as unitarians (God is unipersonal) as opposed to trinitarians (God is tripersonal) they are forced to conclude a 2nd human person called Jesus was just a man who prior to his incarnation was not a person at all; and who will cease to exist in the future. All you need to do is listen to them explain the passages above or John 17:5 where you have two persons clearly indicated and they will tell you one did not preexist his human birth. The consistent theme with Oneness obfuscation is when Jesus and the Father are ever speaking to each other or Jesus is praying suddenly instead of 2 persons we have 'flesh' praying to God. Which is supposed to hide the heresy. Suddenly 2 persons become 'human nature' praying to Spirit but only one person. So, if Jesus is not a person there, only 'human nature' then he was not fully a man/person (i.e. Jesus Christ did not come in the flesh). But if he was fully a man/person (i.e. Jesus Christ is come in the flesh) then he was a person with the Father before the world was. Either way Oneness are denying Jesus Christ came in the flesh. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. Jn.17:3 It is antichrist to deny that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh (1 Jn.4:1-4, 2:22-3). But they make it meaningless because although in reality the person who was with the Father (Jn.1:1-3, 1 Jn.1:1-3) in the beginning became a man- i.e. came in the flesh. They say the 2nd person (in Jn.17 & elsewhere) was a created person- like every other person and did not preexist. So, he didn't "come in the flesh”, he was just simply a human. In that sense every human being “came in the flesh”. Which means they deny Jesus Christ is come in the flesh- because he didn't previously exist his birth as a person. So, while they are forced to believe in 2 persons, they therefore must insist one was a created man and the other was the Creator.

He alone can be the mediator and advocate because of who he is. We can point to verses describing God repenting himself and being grieved dealing with man in successive moments in time- Gen. 6:6-7; Ex. 32:12-14; Num. 23:19; Deut. 32:36; Jdg. 2:18; 1 Sam. 15:11, 15:29, 15:35; 2Sam. 24:16; Ps. 90:13, 106:45, 110:4, 135:14; Jer. 4:28, 15:6, 18:8, 18:10, 20:16, 26:3, 26:13, 26:19, 42:10, Eze. 24:14, Hos. 11:8, 13:14; Joel 1:13-14; Amos 7:3, 7:6; Jonah 3:9-10, 4:2; Zech. 8:14 We see God responding to man in prayer thus in time- Josh. 10:14; Dan. 10:12; 1 Kings 17:22; Matt. 7:7-11; Ex. 32:10- 14; Num. 11:1-2, 14:12-20, 16:16:20-35; Deut. 9:13-14, 9:18-20, 9:25; 2 Sam. 24:17-25; 1 Kin. 21:27-29; 2 Kin. 20:6; 2 Chron. 12:5-8; Jer. 26:19; Isa. 38:5. God establishing covenants presupposing time- Gen.6:18, 9:9-17, 15:18, 17:2-21, Ex.6:5, 19:5, 31:16, Dt.4:13,31, 7:9,12, Jer.31:31-33, 32:40, 33:20-25; Ezek. 37:25-27. Basically, the entire bible is a record of this fact, that God interacts with creation within time.

Heb.2:14-16 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. (Rom. 6:9-10,1 Pet.3:18, Heb.10:10,12, Heb.7:27, 9:25-6) He was delivered up for our sins. (Rom.8:32, 4:25, Ac.2:23,1 Cor.15:3, Gal.1:4, 1Jn.2:2,4:10) This alone can fulfill all divine justice and allow for everlasting mercy to be poured out. (Matt.26:39,53-4, Mark 14:36, Luke 22:42)

And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin Gal.4:6 …God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Jn.3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. Eph.3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith… 2 Cor.13:5 Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

The Holy Spirit Is God’s Presence: Psa.51:11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. 139:7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? 104:29-30 Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust. Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth. The Spirit of God is a person because personal pronouns, functions and attributes are applied to him: Rom.8:27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. 1 Cor.12:11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. Rom.8:26-7 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

God is the Father. And Father is generally understood as the begetter, the generator of life (Prv.23:22, Lv.18:11). God is the creator of all men in his own image and we are called the “offspring of God” (Acts17:26-9). He is the “Father of spirits” (Heb.12:9) “the God of the spirits of all flesh” (Num.16:22). “Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us?” (Mal.2:10) The first man Adam likewise was called the son of God (Lk.3:38, 1 Cor.15:45-7) In this also the heavenly hosts are ‘sons of God’ (Job 1:6,2:1, 38:7) But next God is the Father of the nation of Israel. “When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.” (Ho.11:1) Thus saith the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn (Ex.4:22). Moses reminded Israel “is not he thy father” “the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee. (Dt.32:6, 18) Again, David- Wherefore David blessed the LORD before all the congregation: and David said, Blessed be thou, LORD God of Israel our father, for ever and ever. (1 Chr.29:10) So also Isaiah “But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.” (64:8).
