Pacific Power "C": Part 3 - Flaring and Priming
Green Valley ReloadingDebut of a 1950s Pacific Power "C" reloading press. This is the first time using this press. In this video we demonstrate flaring and priming 38 Special with a system that automates the primer drop into the priming arm. It's possible to never physically touch primers with this system from RCBS. We're using a vintage, pre-1984 RCBS flaring and decapping die. We remove the decapping capability to only use the flare function of the die. RCBS redesigned their dies after 1984.54 views -
Pacific Power "C": Part 4.1 - Powder Throw, Seat, Crimp
Green Valley ReloadingDebut of a 1950s Pacific Power "C" reloading press. This is the first time using this press. In this video we demonstrate a vintage Hornady Powder throw, powder throw technique, and zeroing and validating the scale. We also set up the seat and crimp die. During the video I actually grab the wrong die and I don't realize it. I work through the issue on camera. There's a follow up video coming to explain what happened and why it happened. What's worse is I mention the seater needing to be different on this vintage RCBS die for 357 vs 38 Special. *sigh* We also have a couple of bad bullets during the run. We catch these during our routine checks. I'm keeping the mistakes in the video to illustrate what can happen so they can be learned from. Nothing unsafe happens and no bad advice is given.42 views 1 comment -

Pacific Power "C": Part 4.3 - Powder Throw, Seat, Crimp
Green Valley ReloadingDebut of a 1950s Pacific Power "C" reloading press. This is the first time using this press. In this video we wrap up the final rounds of the batch of 100 38 Special we were building for the first time with this press. We discover another bad bullet for a total of 2 badly sized bullets from the factory. It happens. We do a final powder throw check and final measurements of the finished cartridges. We wrap up by sharing final thoughts on the first use of the 1950s Pacific Power "C" press and talk about some of the other vintage equipment for comparison. This turned out to be a great press! I expect to use it a lot going forward. In a follow on video we will fire a few of these rounds.42 views -
