Elden Ring is Not a Masterpiece

Elden Ring is an excellent game, one of the best releases in the past few years, but...it's not a masterpiece. Maybe gamers' standards have lowered to dramatically that any great game is now considered a masterpiece, but Elden Ring is way too flawed to be one. Partly because it shares the same problems as Dark Souls 3, and partly because it chases modern gaming trends like giant Open Worlds with repetitive copy-pasted dungeons and bosses. I still like the game though.
