Every year the Church celebrates Palm Sunday, the Triumphal (Triumphant) Entry of Jesus. While we may call this the Triumphal Entry and celebrate it yearly, many of us have no idea why we refer to this event as the Triumphant Entry. What was the purpose of this event, and why is it so important to the Church?
