On Thursday, August 5, 2021 Senator James Lankford (R-OK) objected to Senator Gary Peters (D-MI) unanimous consent request to move forward President Biden's DHS Nominee. Lankford opposed the nominee due to concerns with transparency on Biden's open border policies.
