Why are minerals so important?

Mineral salts greatly increase the potency of the cannabinoids in hemp. Here you can see the results from a gas chromatography, mass spectrometry test done on two different batches of hemp extract. The first test result represents an extract that contains all of the water soluble and fat soluble parts of the hemp plant.

The second test is done on the exact same extract with the addition of minerals from the original hemp fiber used to make the extract. Somehow, the test results shows a massive increase in cannabinoids even though no additional cannabinoids are added, only mineral salts are added back. According to a chemical and biological engineering scholar at the University of Boulder, Colorado, "My best hypothesis is that there is a synergistic effect that is taking place. It is also possible the salts are reacting with the cannabinoids to create cannabinoid salts."
