Does Mark's ending change the Gospel?

There are a couple of passages in the New Testament, such as Mark 16:9-20, and the story of the woman caught in adultery in John 7:53-8:11which are not found in some of the earliest manuscripts. This is no secret, that is why these passages are always accompanied by a footnote indicating that we don’t know whether or not these passages were in the original transcripts. Does this impact the message or reliability of the Gospels? No way.
