A quick search with your favorite search engine will reveal 3 important things about your zip code:
1) What is your growing zone?
2) How long is your growing season?
3) What is your average annual rainfall?
These are vital pieces of information when designing your garden, as they will let you know what you CAN grow (in theory at least), filtered by how much time you have to grow it .. and if you have sufficient water to take advantage of that growing season.
