I attribute the quote "History belongs to the intercessors" to Derek Prince, who may not have been the first to say it. Here is the more complete quote from Walter Wink, as quoted in Engels & Briggs book The Jesus Fast. (pg. 191): “History belongs to the intercessors who believe the future into being… [a future that] belongs to whoever can envision a new and desirable possibility, which faith then fixes upon as inevitable… If we are to take biblical understanding seriously, intercession… changes the world and it changes what is possible to God.”
