Proof of concept trailer for a short film titled RUUQYA (Exorcism) starring the talented actor AJ Jaywar .

Synopsis

Translating from Arabic as exorcism, the film depicts the spiritual struggles of an Orthodox monk wondering through early Canada . Finding shelter in an ancient ruin after a severe storm that ravaged his house, a monk is terrorized by a jinn( spirit or demon ) who tries to take possession of his body. What follows is a three day battle without food or sleep with dark visions that seem to stem directly from the depth of his unconscious. Told in a non sequential manner, the film borrows heavily from experimental, art house and horror cinema to portray an internal struggle with madness within the transcendental depths of the landscape.
