Japan: Wars of Liberty (Age of Empires 3 Mod) Let's Play

Another Original AoE 3 Civilization edited. Japan is quite different, units have been replaced among other edits. Japan can choose from Buddhism, Laicism, or Shintoism for religions. Japan also has Gensui which are unique units that can recieve shipments and train Infantry and Cavalry units one of which can only be procured by building a structure called "The Shogunate" that allows one to Advance in Age, the unique Gensui is named "Nagaoka Gaishi" and his unit portrait's mustache/beard is noteworthy (There was also a real world Japanese Military Officer with that name and yes old photos of him with his weird mustache exists). Unit edits include the Gunto Rider replacing the Naginata Rider from original AoE 3, the Kanouhou which is a cannon that replaces the Fire Arrow unit, the Shaguma Musketeer as a anti cavalry unit, and for a anti infantry role is the Kihei. Oddly enough one of the cards used by japan that makes unit upgrades cheaper depicts a table with coins, with one of the coins being stabbed.

One of the options for the Embassy is "Japanese Isolation" can summon a Military Rickshaw, and have a upgrade called "Bushido Principles" which allows military units to be trained in larger blocks and "Clan Offerings" which musters a samurai at every castle you own. Japanese Isolationism also has unique units to train such as Onna-Bushi (female Japanese warrior armed with Naginata useful against cavalry and buildings), Yakuza (a member of Japanese organized crime that is useful against mercenaries and heroes), Shinsengumi (Japanese secret police that can detect and destroy spies), and Hatamoto Samurai (also good against Cavalry and Buildings, but more expensive, can do area damage, and takes up more population than the Onna-Bushi).
