Your First Archery Scouting Trip

This is a pre-scouting video for the beginner archery hunter. It will show how I use OnX hunting software to find possible hunting locations for elk. I cover everything from how to read topo maps, how to locate elk entry and emergency exit points, bedding areas, rubs, beds, water, food, cover and utilizing wind direction. This is a great video for teaching the beginning archery elk hunter how to pre-scout and to understand exactly what they are looking for when reading a topo map. This is first in a series of four videos. The second video will show me on location searching for the actual sign and recording the sign, such as elk rubs, tracks, wind direction, food sources, bedding locations, and possible entry and exit locations onto the OnX hunt software on my phone. The third video will show me returning to my desk top to view and study exactly what we have learned and building a plan. The fourth video will be setting up the ambush locations according to wind direction and what we learned in video three.
