Crofton, BC, Picnic, Day Use Area, Unofficial, July 2021

At the corner of Crofton Road & McDonald Road, you can turn down the hill towards the water, right beside the Crofton Pulp Mill. This is an "Unofficial" place to go for a picnic, a break from your boss of maybe walk your dog. It is only accessible during weekdays, during the day.

My casual research into this area tells me the following, this area was used by the staff and families of people who worked at the mill back in the day when the business cared about it's employees & their families. I have also heard that possession, use & ownership of this land is in dispute with the local Indigenous people. I am unsure of whether this is true or not.

This road has "Heavy Industrial Truck Traffic" on it at all times of the day. Do not let your pets or kids run free. It connects an island used for industrial purposes with the main mill which is why it is locked at certain times. Use at your own risk.

- An assorted collection of used, generally unserviceable Smart Phones.
- The cheapest "Action Cam" I could find.
- The absolutely cheapest battery powered Lapel Mic I could find.
- An oddball assortment of Smart Phone Holders.
- An old, (really old) tripod.
- Two "Junk Store" desk lamps.
- SmallRig brand articulating arms, short & long, with additional clamps.
- Huge quantities of Hardware, (Nuts & Bolts).
- USB extension cords.
- One small laptop computer.
- Image Software, Irfanview & Adobe Photoshop 5
- Video Software, Shotcut, (Free Version).
