As a young Air Force Major of China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA), Hu Zhiming has a future that many of his peers could only hope for. However, when faced with choosing between pursuing his career in the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) system and upholding his faith in Falun Gong, he follows his heart and chooses his faith.

Because of this, he is expelled from the military, kidnapped by the secret police and thrown into prison. Zhiming protests the harsh persecution with a hunger and water strike that lasts 1200 days. No one believes he will survive.

He has made unexpected friendships and is respected for his perseverance and kindness in the face of unspeakable suffering. Just when he thinks he may live to see his release, a former CCP intelligence officer appears in his cell and shatters his hard-won peace. Zhiming once again faces a life or death decision.
