With the Leah Thomas issue, the debate in society about Transgender athletes, and Transgenders in general, the word “transphobic” has been hurled at people who have differing opinions from the mainstream news narrative. We discuss the fallacy and the dangers of mislabeling someone with differing opinions instead of having the necessary discussions to answer questions or discrepencies. It doesn’t make people less “transphobic”, it entrenches people in their opinions and makes them more defensive than originally mislabeled.
