You've probably heard of the word Event Horizon before. There's even a movie named after it. People often think it's the "surface" of a black hole. Even though a black hole sucks you in, you can never touch its event horizon. Infact, absolutely nothing can pass through it, yet black holes across the universe devour many times the earth's mass every second. Event Horizons aren't confined to black holes either. Right now there is an event sweeping across the universe swallowing up everything as it goes, approaching earth from all directions. So what is an event horizon? Let me explain.
