Confused Voices

Scrolling along the inter-webs, I found an interesting article that I read, rolled my eyes at, then decided there actually was some value to explore. It is an article written from the perspective of a woman who is from the Soviet Union era of the Ukraine region that has been trading borders with regimes in control of the area for years. I found her writing to bring more information into the story, and clear some of the confusion concerning the vantage point of non-participation in the current conflict. Due to the historic nature of the region, the population that is affected by the Russian advance has been experiencing this conflict on a personal level for generations. The fluidity of the borders is what leaves the citizens of the area feeling lost, confused about their origins, and searching for counter- agencies to the tyrants they want to flee.

Knowing this basic background to the stories of immigrants and the countries they flee, not only reflects to issues that could start brewing in America, but also illustrates the prominent need of citizens to have strong borders. The population of a region is only as politically inclined as the arm of the law allows.
