This is the story of Konstantin Pavlovich Buteyko’s controversial scientific discovery that has ongoing world implications for the continued survival of mankind today.
The Buteyko Method is a breathing retraining program for over breathing disorders, which was brought to Australia in the 1990 from Russia. It was first developed by the Russian medical scientist, Professor Konstantin Buteyko in the 1950’s, and was endorsed by the Soviet Health Ministry in 1985.
The method was introduced to Australia in the early 1990’s and quickly achieved significant anecdotal success for its ability to provide asthma, and sleep apnoea sufferers with quick and sustained relief from symptoms, and a decrease in the need for medication and machines.
This documentary on the Buteyko Breathing Method is in production and includes aspects of the history and development of the method along with case studies and current initiatives with the method filmed around the world.
