Mad Skillz(2012)

Now this song is one of the oldest I've written & released. I started writing the song when I was 13 just several weeks before my 14th birthday. Being inspired by Eminem's song "Infinite" I was I was trying to write the most lyrical song I could at the time as a late 13 year old. I had a neighbor that lived by that gave me the beat to use & I finished writing the song just a couple a weeks after I turned 14. Then the Memorial Middle School talent show was coming & I had just finished the song in time to audition for it. My audition got me the final act of the show, & I performed my song for the 2 shows there where that night totally blowing the crowed away!!! After that show I spent the next month or 2 attempting to record that song with the equipment I had at the time but the laptop I was using was a really old 1997 WIndows 95 laptop my mom had giving me for Thanksgiving & I had no way of getting the original recording off the laptop to post. During the next second half of the year I started putting more focus on to other parts of my music & kept writing & freestlying more & more, slowly coming up with more material I that would be put on my first EP Mad Skillz that I would be recording over the summer. When it came around time to start recording the main version of this song for the CD, I had lost the original CD the beat was on & even tried to go back & get a copy from the neighbor who gave me the beat but he didn't have a copy of it. I think I found the CD eventually, but it was too scratched up to copy the original beat from. So I went & started building a whole new beat on my own for the song trying to recreate the original beat the best I could then spent the next week recording the song. I finished just the day before school was supposed to start, & finishing the recording of this version meant my first EP "Mad Skillz" was completed. I released this version of the song with the Mad Skillz EP the next day on the first day of school.
