A Short Bible Teaching 2

At the Jerusalem Council in The Book of Acts the Apostle Peter rose up and admonished a sect of believing Pharisees who said “It is necessary to circumcise them, (believing Gentiles) and command them to keep the law of Moses.” The Apostle Peter asked these believing Pharisees, “why do you test God by putting a yolk on the neck of the disciples (believing Gentiles) which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?” (Acts 15/10) He also explained that “God, who knows the heart”, gave believing Gentiles the Holy Spirit just as He, God, gave the Holy Spirit to them, believing Jews; God did not make any distinction between the two. (Acts 15/8-9) The only requirement seeking Gentiles needed to be saved and receive the Holy Spirit was to believe God for the sacrifice of His Son and that He, Jesus, rose up again, from the grave; they believed, they received. I think the Apostle Peter made it clear; We should not over complicate the simplicity of the “believe” and “receive” message of Christ with matters of the law.
