The Biden regime is putting a new surveillance and censorship tool in place ahead of the 2022 midterm elections. They call it the 'Disinformation Governance Board.' It even sounds Orwellian...

The details: The Disinformation Governance Board will be an arm of the regime's Department of Homeland Security. Its stated aim is to focus on countering "disinformation" about illegal immigration and Russia.

Zoom out: This censorship board announcement comes just days after Elon Musk's successful deal to take over Twitter with the stated goal of making it a bastion for free speech. Coincidence?

Nina Jankowicz has been appointed to head the board. Jankowicz is a woke activist with a long history of speaking out against free speech. Here are some examples:

Discrediting the Hunter Biden Laptop as 'Russian disinformation':

She tweeted that it was a "fairy tale" and claimed, "the Kremlin used proxies to push influence narratives, including misleading or unsubstantiated claims about President Biden."

She pushed an article she claimed cast "yet more doubt on the provenance of the NY Post's Hunter Biden story."

Anti-free speech rhetoric is also a common theme for Jankowicz:

She once tweeted that "'free speech vs censorship' framing is a false dichotomy."

In another tweet, she said she "shudders to think about if free speech absolutists were taking over more platforms"

In 2020 when Twitter announced it would stop policing information about the 2020 election, Jankowicz tweeted: "Considering the long-term damage these lies do to our democracy, I’m dismayed about this decision."

Jankowicz also claimed during an MSNBC interview in 2020 that militarized Trump supporters were going to show up at the polls in 2020 with weapons to intimidate voters.

...and these are just a few of the troubling quotes and tweets from the woman who is about to run the Biden regime's new censorship tool.

The big picture: Earlier this week we spoke about how Obama and Hillary were calling on Biden to combat "disinformation" online. It seems like it didn't take long for Biden to follow their orders.

Good news: State Attorney's Generals are going to fight this authoritarianism. Missouri AG Eric Schmitt tweeted:

"I’m also going to let a cat out of the bag — you’re about to get a lesson in federalism because the free state of Missouri will NEVER let you administer a federal Ministry of Truth. Buckle up!"
