In the midst of Netflix stock taking a nose dive, subscribers canceling subscriptions, and the Dave Chappelle controversy the streaming giant has decided to add more fuel to the fire. The Netflix Original series The Umbrella Academy based on the comic book of the same name has a character change unlike any other. Elliot Page formerly Ellen Page has stated that his character in the popular series starring Tom Hopper, David Castaneda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, and Cameron Britton will be trans in the series and come out as trans in the 3rd season of the show and will be Viktor Hargreeves instead of Vanya Hargreeves. This revelation comes after the 2020 announcement that the character would not be changed in the series despite Elliot’s transition.
