I unpack some of the Internal Family Systems Model, explaining how we can live from "protectors" that were designed in childhood to care for exiled parts of self. Because these protectors ultimately fail us, we can grow to not trust ourselves. However, the good news is that the self that is not trusted is not actually the Self that CAN be trusted.
