Ben Shapiro says the United States has not moved to the Right in 30 years. The Majority Report crew reacts and discusses Shapiro’s claims and how they mostly apply to culture war and not government structure as there have been various pieces of legislation moving the United States to the right. Ben Shapiro is convinced that the culture wars are a lib democratic phenomena and in some respects, he's actually correct. [external video] The governmental structure has moved to the right okay let's just be clear here he's you know they're going to there are two things that are going on here one he's conflating the culture war with governmental structure. I can name many things that have happened in governmental structure that have moved to the right: capital gains taxes more you know taxes are higher on people who work than on money you can look about this in defanging labor you can talk about it cuts to medicine and public hospitals I mean we go on and on and on on and on and on. But he is correct and i think he really should be saying 50 or 60 years in terms of that progressives if you will or liberals or maybe the majority of the American public has moved to the left in the culture war, and I'm going to help him out by going down a list because he won't say it actually what it is: black people were allowed to get the right to vote protected. black people were given civil rights women were given civil rights like things like I can have a credit card in my own name if I'm married. in fact, i can register to vote in my maiden name even if I'm married.
