1. We just bought a farm in Spain

fter 18months of searching we have finally bought a farmhouse and land in Spain, in the Almeria Province of Andalucia, in a small hamlet near the mountain village of Oria. We will be renovating a 200 year old farm house and the land in the driest region of Europe.

Moving in August 2020 as the first lockdowns of the pandemic lifted - in a van with all our animals and belongings it took 6 days and 3 ferries to travel from the Greek island of Rhodes to Andalucia.

In Christmas 2019 we decided to move from Greece to Spain. The cost of living and travelling in Greece had risen too high, we wanted to put down roots, and buy our own place.

Then the pandemic hit and we thought the move wouldn’t happen. Amanda was locked down on the Greek island of Rhodes and Dave was stuck in the far north of Scotland at work. But the borders opened and we took a risk. Giving away most of our belongings and packing what we could into a van we went for it.

With lockdowns restricting our ability to search it has taken longer but was worth the wait.
