Lake Mead & Hoover Dam

We went to Lake Mead and Hoover Dam. The Colorado River runs into Lake Mead, but it's not enough to keep the lake full. The lake's water level is super low. We continued on to Hoover Dam. At the Security Check Point, we were pulled aside, so they could search our van. The officers looked in our tubs under the bed and peaked inside and looked around. We passed the inspection, and we headed to the dam. The water is extremely low. Someday the turbines are not going to be under water, so they won't be able to take in any water. The huge spillways connect to the old diversion tunnels used to divert the Colorado River while they built the dam. With levels this low, the spillway will never be used. We saw a pink 4-wheel drive bus in the parking lot, and it was awesome. It belongs to Pink Adventure Tours/Pink Jeep Tours. They have been in business since 1960. They provide tours in several locations like Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Smokey Mountains, Flag Staff, Sedona Arizona and more. Now we are headed back to Circus Circus RV Park in Las Vegas Nevada for the night.
