Mining Profitable Coins. What is the Best Strategy?

Using Zergpool pool stats, I was thinking I could CPU mine VERUSHASH and get paid out in BITOREUM for max profits. I ran two CPU rigs one mining #BITOREUM to Bitoreum payout. The other mining #VERUSHASH veruscoin to get paid out in BITOREUM. VRSC has a high profitability rating so I figured this would yield more BITOREUM on the exchange payout. It does not look that way. Perhaps I am not doing this right. still learning.
