Oh boy, it's Friday so all we have to do is knock this segue out and then we're out of here for parts unknown and it can be surf and turf time... or something like that as we leave the studio controls to the Mayor and whatever he cooks up for the weekend. Today we mix Santana from their appearance at Woodstock into the ultimate "One Rock Opera Wonder," garage band, Smoke Rise, which was from an Atlanta suburb. The group proved you could get a record contract with a new label (Paramount) which had no business getting into the music business and somehow get them to release a two record album about Joan of Arc. Sure would have helped if there had been somebody in the studio control room who actually knew what he was doing... it's interesting none the less...

Segue City is a recurring short-form programming element. At some point it will be a part of "The Big Kahuna." That’s an Internet Radio format that’s a part of Global Entertainment Technology that was created by Dain L. Schult.

It revives the art of mixing two songs together in a seamless pattern where it is tough to tell where the first song ended and the second one began. Sometimes the segues may also revolve around thematic ideas like matching or similar song titles.

Other times there are hidden meanings and Easter Eggs in the mix as well. We'll try anything because no two Segue City Specials will ever be exactly the same...
