A Memorial Day PSA from an old sailor

Yes, Memorial Day - and the associated weekend - is a day for memorializing, remembering, and honoring those that came before us. But I'm pretty sure that those who came before us also won't mind you cracking a few of those beer things with your friends over some of those... hamburgers? Why the hell are they called that? There's no pig in them. *sigh* Bloody humans. Whatever.

In fact, I'm pretty sure those who came before us would be downright cranky if you /didn't/ do that.

If it makes you feel better, think of it as the post-death celebratory drinking that those... those... crazy humans with the red fur on top of their heads do. What's the name of that stupid island? Ireland? Yeah. Them. I think they call those "wakes", because... y'know... we're nautical around here, and that makes NO sense at all in our context. Anyways, have a wake. Apparently it's traditional.
