2 Thessalonians

This letter from Paul has been grossly misused by many in recent generations. Paul is not teaching about some imaginary "rapture of the church" or of some mystically evil individual referred to as the "Antichrist." As a matter of fact, the term "Antichrist" is only used in 1 & 2 John and neither letter is prophetic.

Paul is speaking of the resurrection and also of the Abomination of Desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel. The Thessalonians were of the opinion that they may have missed the resurrection. Paul writes these letters to comfort and encourage them, as well as to teach them prophecy as written in the Tanakh.
