John says he writes these things so that we may not sin. He writes that if we have fellowship with Him and still sin, we lie and do not walk in the truth (1 John 1:5-6).

John then says that if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Yeshua Messiah the righteous. The Greek word for "Advocate" is paraklaytos:G3875. That word is only used four other times in Scripture and is used as a descriptor of the Spirit of the Father (John 14:16). John is saying that we have "Helpers" in the Breath and Word of the Father.
