Tony Matthews - Twinkle Variations for Orchestra

This is the work that won the UK Songwriting Contest in 2008. I have always been fascinated how different composers have made use of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star".

This piece was commissioned by "The Learning Orchestra", an amateur orchestra, which tackles "proper" works such as Beethoven Symphonies. The orchestra premiered the work in September 2007.

It has since be performed by the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and also by the Phoenix Symphony and, I believe, others as well.
