Into the Redwoods, Part 3

In Part 3, we spend our time within the Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park near Carlotta, CA, where the speeder bike scene from Star Wars, Episode VI, the Return of the Jedi was filmed. The Cheatham Grove, as it is known, is a magnificent Northern Franciscan redwood forest. The photogenic old growth forest was the perfect place for filming a movie about a fictitious planet covered in forests with massive trees.

We camped overnight in the Grizzly Creek Redwoods campsite, near the Van Duzen River, was our best campsite with regard for tenting amongst the redwoods.
