Following the 7 billionth mass-shooting in the United States so far this week, Joe Biden has signed 6 executive orders, all pertaining to gun control. This has a lot of people up in, uhm...arms.
In a time when unity is needed as much as any other time in history, this is one of the hottest and most issues of the moment. and while both sides have strong arguments and solid evidence on their side, few seem inclined to switch sides on this issue. Debate on this is non-starter.
Lives may be at stake, but evidence that gun control laws well not help, and are even likely to make things worse, is compelling. The warnings of conspiracy theorists seem increasingly credible, as Bidens campaign promises are proven hollow with each passing week, and the distinction between parties is more and more indiscernible. Border wall construction continues (even to the extent that the Biden administration is seizing the homes of American families that are in the way), COVID restrictions remain in place, and both the 1st and 2nd Amendments are being corroded.
I own no guns, which I mention in the interest of elucidating my objectivity. I live in a country where guns are very difficult to get (you are 4x's as likely to be murdered here than in the US.), but as an American citizen, and one considering returning with my family, this is an important issue.
